Introducing Lofo, the New Information College Hub

I am a current UCLA undergraduate studying cognitive science, computing, and entrepreneurship. On campus, I am part of the operations team of LA Hacks, ACM Teach, Bruin entrepreneurs, and economic research on racial equality. This past summer, I interned at SOSV HAX – a startup accelerator and VC that focuses on incubating hard-ware ideas and organized a 1000+ participant demo day. I am currently looking for internships in user research and product management.

In an age of information overload, Lofo strives to revolutionize the way we consume information. Lofo is a college information hub where students can find pre-professional resources with a low-information diet. The startup stemmed from our struggle to maintain a low-information diet. Upon entering college, we subscribed to most or all club and department newsletters so we could grow professionally and academically: product workshops, speaker events, colloquia, research information sessions. However, newsletters slowly piled-up until our mailboxes had become a reflection of our cluttered minds. We thought there had to be a less time-consuming way to find and filter events by our interests.

Hence Lofo. Lofo allows students to search, browse through, and RSVP to events, while clubs and organizations can post and share events to more diverse user demographics. Currently, Lofo is website-based and UCLA-based, but we hope to branch out onto mobile platforms and other college campuses.
