Join the YMCA Stair Climb & Urban Hike – Innovate@UCLA Sponsored Team Forming!

Registration for the YMCA Stair Climb & Urban Hike – is now open. The event will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025. At 1,005 feet, the U.S. Bank Tower is home to the tallest stairwell west of the Mississippi. During the Stair Climb, participants race or walk up 1,664 steps (75 stories). If sightseeing is more your style, begin and end at the same locations with our Urban Hike, passing community landmarks such as the Bloc, Grammy Museum, and more along the way. Whether you are climbing or hiking, plan to visit Maguire Gardens where a Block Party awaits – complete with food trucks, activities, a DJ, and a beer garden.

Rory Devine (Robert Half) is sponsoring one Innovate@UCLA team, The Stairmasters of Innovation, and will cover registration fees for interested members.

All of the money raised is invested directly in free and low-cost YMCA community programs for children, teens, families and seniors living in some of the most under-resourced communities in the city. This includes teen programs that cultivate our future leaders, youth sports so every child can experience the joy of sports, and summer camps (both day and sleepaway) that fill youth with self-confidence and the wonder of new experiences.

Participants can choose from three options:

Stair Climb: 1,664 steps to the top of the U.S. Bank Tower
Urban Hike: 1-2 miles walk through Downtown LA landmarks
Virtual Stair Climb: Complete the 75-floor climb at a location of your choice

Funds raised support YMCA youth and family programs across Los Angeles.
