CxO Summer Event – Top Golf (August 30th, 2023)

Technology enthusiasts and industry leaders gathered for the highly anticipated CxO Summer Event. Held at the Top Golf facility in El Segundo, the event provided a unique opportunity for networking, fun, and friendly competition. Whether attendees were seasoned golfers or beginners, it was a fantastic occasion for professionals of varying backgrounds and skill levels to come together, share experiences, and make valuable connections in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The event was made even more special with the support of Fortinet, a leading name in cybersecurity. Throughout the evening, participants engaged in spirited competition, exchanged industry insights, and forged connections that are sure to endure.

Innovate@UCLA Women in Technology Workshop – Expand Your Network, from Virtual to Reality (September 12th, 2023)

In a collaborative effort, Innovate@UCLA’s Women in Technology (WIT) and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) presented an interactive workshop that delved into the significance of networking and the art of refining elevator pitches. Attendees had the opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate, guided by WIT member Piper O’Brien. The workshop encouraged pitch development and offered a platform for valuable feedback. Participants eagerly looked forward to the SoCal Women’s Leadership event in November, where they could meet their new virtual connections in person.

Fall CxO Exchange – The Role of Chance Encounters in Silicon Valley Innovation (October 12th,2023)

In October, Innovate@UCLA hosted the Fall CxO Exchange, featuring Professor Keith Chen, a leading expert in Behavioral Economics at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. This event explored how chance encounters drive innovation in Silicon Valley, utilizing smartphone data to track knowledge flows and examining their implications for cities, firms, and the future of work. Attendees also enjoyed an insightful presentation by Karl Sigler, Senior Security Research Manager at Trustwave, who delved into “The Current Cyber Threat Landscape.” Trustwave, a leader in managed detection and response and cybersecurity services, sponsored the event, which was complemented by a delightful dinner, making it a well-rounded evening of learning and networking.

End-of-Year Board Celebration (December 6th ,2023)

The Innovate@UCLA community gathered in L’Opera Restaurant in Long Beach, CA, for a spectacular End-of-the Year Board Celebration dinner. It was an evening of reflection and celebration as we came together to applaud a remarkable year of Innovate@UCLA’s Board accomplishments and their visionary leadership and contributions throughout the year. Their leadership inspires us all to reach new heights, and we look forward to continuing this journey of innovation and education together. The event was sponsored by Caylent, an all-in AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, and Veracode, best known for its intelligent software security.
